Fishing on the Panama Canal

During my stay in Gamboa, I met and became friends with Patrick, a French man passionate about fishing, who stayed to satisfy his passion. The fishing parties took place on the Panama Canal, on the Rio Chagres, a river whose mouth is located in the municipality of Gamboa and also near the island of Barro Colorado.

This island is fully protected and is a world-renowned scientific research area. Scientists from all disciplines come to study the living world (more information).

I want to thank him again for giving me all those unforgettable moments!

With this album, I want to show you the atmosphere we were in.

My stay in Gamboa, Panama, was part of a research program on tropical butterflies of the genus Heliconius (for more information: ici).
