During my stay in Gamboa, I met and became friends with Patrick, a French man passionate about fishing, who stayed to satisfy his passion. The fishing parties took place on the Panama Canal, on the Rio Chagres, a river whose mouth is located in the municipality of Gamboa and also near the island of Barro Colorado.
This island is fully protected and is a world-renowned scientific research area. Scientists from all disciplines come to study the living world (more information).
